BIG GIVE IS OVER, BUT YOU CAN STILL SUPPORT YOUR FAVORITE PROGRAMS.
American Cultures Center

Rooted in histories of powerful student organizing, the American Cultures Center acts as an intersection of studies on the systematic and structural nature of racism and communities battling for racial justice.  Ensure that the American Cultures requirement at UC Berkeley remains innovative, collaborative, and relevant to America’s dynamic racial, ethnic, and sociocultural landscape. Help fund nationally recognized initiatives that encompass the widest array of disciplines of any UC Berkeley teaching and learning program.

Three reasons to support the American Cultures Center:

1. The Staff as Students of Social Justice Program (SSSJ) offers campus staff the opportunity to join a unique learning community that centers intersections of race, ethnicity, and gender; dig into subjects of personal interests; and build connections with faculty, students, and fellow campus colleagues.

2. This past November, AC partnered with several campus departments to launch the High School Ethnic Studies Initiative (HSESI), which will support high school teachers and districts in meeting the Ethnic Studies graduation requirement beyond what is outlined by California Assembly Bill 101.

3. The American Cultures Engaged Scholarship (ACES) Program provides meaningful opportunities for students to collaborate with community partners on cutting-edge social justice projects.
