College Writing Programs

Support the College Writing Programs Fund and help increase writing expertise for all UC Berkeley undergraduates.

Our mission is to help build confidence in writing and enhance students’ ability to express rich ideas thoughtfully. Our philosophy of teaching includes small class size, careful attention to building critical reading, and promoting critical thinking skills.

We’re proud to say that students frequently point to these courses as among the best they’ve had at Berkeley. Your gift will help us continue to teach writing as a craft and work with students at all levels of expertise.

L&S Advisory Board Challenge #1: 500 Donors

A generous donor on the L&S Advisory Board will contribute $10,000 to the L&S Leadership Fund once the first 500 donors give to any part of the College of Letters & Science.

If the College of Letters & Science recruits 1,500 donors to any of its funds, a generous donor on the L&S Advisory Board will give another $10,000 to the L&S Leadership Fund.

A generous donor has challenged the College of Letters & Science to beat its 2023 Big Give total and secure 2,400 donors in order to unlock another $10,000 (for a total of $50,000) for the L&S Leadership Fund!
