Support new knowledge, technologies, and solutions for a better world through research, capstone projects, and student-led initiatives.
The Blum Center leverages the talent, enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit of UC Berkeley to address challenges both at home and abroad. Our undergraduate minor, global poverty & practice, continues to be one of the most popular on campus; our new graduate degree programs in development engineering are training a remarkable cohort of students merging technology and development for careers in social impact; and our Big Ideas ecosystem attracts record numbers of diverse innovators addressing important problems. We train leaders to develop technology-driven solutions, working with government, nonprofit and corporate partners committed to advancing international development, national security, and economic prosperity.
