Help high school students develop leadership skills in occupational safety and health.
The annual Young Worker Leadership Academy (YWLA) is a three-day youth leadership training program that teaches teams of high school students from all over the state about occupational safety and health. It also aims to develop their leadership skills so they can serve as resources to other youth now and to fellow workers in the future.
The first YWLA was held in 2005 with over 22 academies, and 128 teams of youth leaders have been trained so far. Your gifts will go far to give young people the opportunity to learn about others’ perspectives, experiences, and cultures as well as the type of health and safety challenges faced by working teens throughout the state.
