UCBMUN: Providing Platforms for Change and Equity
Model UN: Conversations About Equity and Inclusion

UC Berkeley Model United Nations (UCBMUN) is Berkeley’s premier traveling debate team. Our completely student-run organization is one of the best MUN programs on the West Coast, ranked 4th in the country before the pandemic! As one of the larger clubs on campus, our members hail from over 20 countries, pursue 39 different majors, and speak over 25 different languages. Our team represents UC Berkeley at college conferences year-round, hosted by schools across the country.

Our amazing team!

Every year, UCBMUN hosts a Model United Nations debate conference for four days in the San Francisco Financial District. Over 500 delegates from over 50 schools across the nation gather to debate solutions to pressing global issues. We are passionate about providing this platform for students to discuss topics related to diversity, equity and empowerment. This is reflected in the committees that we create and chair for the conference, such as the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and Bandung Conference: Decolonization and Globalization. Model UN is all about teaching you to collaborate with diverse individuals, hear out those with opposing or underrepresented views, draft creative solutions and adopt a more global and inclusive perspective. By creating a platform to have these conversations, we believe we have the power to bring about real change in the world.

Your donation will not only help us fund our own conference, but will also help our members travel and represent UC Berkeley at colleges across the country. Currently, members must pay significant money out of pocket to travel, since funding is limited, which can deprive low-income students of the ability to compete. Every donation, no matter the size, will help us continue to provide a platform for change through our conference, and make travel more accessible. Thank you so much for your support!
