Giving Opportunities 2021

A great education does not simply occur in the classroom. The Cal Career Center is the campus hub of career-building opportunities and the conduit to the employer community. We serve freshmen through PhDs, ensuring that our scholars of today are also the career-ready leaders of tomorrow. 

Our belief is that the hallmark of a great education is not only scholarly accomplishment, but also the ability to effect change. 

We offer students the opportunity to leave Berkeley with every tool they need to negotiate the world of work confidently, and to step into the future prepared to turn career aspirations into reality.

The Cal Career Center centers social justice in all our programming but we are specifically seeking donors to help to build out our Job Shadow Externship program and other experiential learning opportunities. In the Job Shadow Externship, students shadow alumni across industries in their day-to-day work and learn valuable skills. 

• This fund enables these deserving students to participate in special experiential learning opportunities. We are hoping to fund travel and housing for Pell Grant students to shadow alumni across the US and around the world. 
• This program is unique as it serves those who may not otherwise be able to complete internships or gain work experience before graduation.

Join us in providing additional funding to traditionally marginalized students to access experiential learning opportunities to advance their careers!

As the Cal Career Center programming continues to grow, your gifts will make students’ real-world education possible and prepare them for success in their future careers as soon as they graduate.

If you’re not able to give monetarily at this time, we invite you to volunteer as a mentor on Berkeley Career Network, join the Cal Job Shadow Externship Program as an Extern Host, or attend a one night event as part of our Career Connections alumni-student networking series or elevate our message by becoming an ambassador!
