Sage Mentorship Project
The Sage Mentorship Project: You can make a change in the life of one child today

The Sage Mentorship Project is UC Berkeley's largest one-on-one mentorship organization, matching hundreds of committed UC Berkeley students to an elementary school-aged mentee each year. Our mission is to provide youth from the ten Berkeley, El Cerrito, and Oakland elementary schools we reach with a personal connection to mentors through academic and extracurricular activities in order to foster life skills and personal growth.

Your support to the Sage Mentorship Project would allow our 200+ mentors be able to:

  • Protect Students Against COVID-19 - The majority of our mentors visit their mentees in person, and as a result mentors are in dire need of gloves, hand sanitizer, etc. This not only protects mentors, but the children as well as many are too young to be vaccinated against the disease.
  • Hosting Events for the Youth: At Sage we also like to celebrate the progress our mentees make. This is why at the end of the year Sage hosts an end of the year banquet for every school we are partnered with.  Contributions for this go towards games, food, and arts and craft materials for children to use on the day of the event.
  • Hosting Socials for our Mentors: Our mentors are also very important to Sage. We hosts monthly socials in order to connect mentors to one another. This allows them to destress from the rigorous academics of Berkeley and focus on themselves while getting to know others who are also interested in community service.

We are grateful for ANY and ALL support.
