Berkeley Changemaker + DEI
Help us inspire and empower the next generation of diverse Berkeley Changemakers!

Students say that Berkeley Changemaker courses are the single most important ones they have taken at UC Berkeley. Since we launched in July 2020, we’ve already enrolled ~10% of undergraduates in our courses. We have ten Berkeley Changemaker classes open for spring enrollment.

Berkeley Changemaker™ codifies an essential part of what UC Berkeley has always stood for and provides a future-oriented narrative that our whole campus is rallying behind, humanists and scientists alike. Through a focus on i) critical thinking, ii) communication, and iii) collaboration, our curriculum activates undergraduates’ passions and helps them develop a sharper sense of who they want to be and how to make that happen.

Our gateway Course 12 teaches undergraduates about the power of diversity and inclusion and equips them with the skills they need to collaborate effectively on teams with others whose lived experiences may be vastly different than their own. We’re seeking your support to expand our course modules on leading diverse and inclusive teams, as well as to help us provide our instructors with the pedagogical tools they need to best support our students, particularly those who are underrepresented, first-generation, or come from low-income families.
