MPS Scholars
Support STEM undergrads and their pathways to success!

MPS Scholars is a new program in the Division of Mathematical & Physical Sciences (MPS) that provides a welcoming and academically supportive environment for intended majors in their first two years. The program paves pathways to success for all undergraduates, with particular attention to the needs of students from under-resourced schools and economically-disadvantaged backgrounds. The goals of the program are to help students succeed in their chosen MPS major and advance to degree completion, forge into graduate programs, and prepare for industry jobs and STEM careers.

With unlimited potential and the drive to flourish at Berkeley, a gift to MPS Scholars, can support these students in areas, such as:

  • STEM focused opportunities for students to gain critical access to faculty and research.
  • Upper division and graduate student mentorship and tutoring program.
  • Academic support through new course development and departmental advisors, benefiting participating students,.
  • Professional development and STEM advancement opportunities, including workshops and training, networking and cross-discipline career exploration, and stipends and internship positions.
